SUB-THEME/6: EVIDENCES OF A HEALED LAND.
TOPIC: God's Forgiveness
TEXT: Hosea 14:1-7.
To understand the meaning and nature of God’s forgiveness for a land.
The last sub-theme examined the prerequisites for healing a land. In this study, we will look at the evidences we expect to have when healing takes place When God forgives a people, He goes further to heal their land. But before forgiveness, His wrath is usually experienced. When He forgives, He no longer hides His face from them. However, it should be noted that restoration of relationship and fellowship with God is crucial. When God blots out our transgressions, He really doesn’t keep a record of such past sins anymore. This may look unreal to man but we have to believe the scriptures (Isa 44:22-23). His restored favourable disposition is a glaring evidence that He has not only forgiven us but has also blotted out every sin.
1. What is “God’s forgiveness to a land”? Jer. 50:20; Hosea 14:4.
2. What is the nature of God’s forgiveness, Isa 43:25; 44:22; I John 1:9?
3. What is the effect of God’s forgiveness on sinners and their land? Isa 57:15-18; Hosea 14:4-7; I John 1:9.
4. How can we maintain God’s forgiveness? John 5:14; 8:11.
Confession and repentance must precede forgiveness by God. When we receive total forgiveness, then our land can be healed of all moral, spiritual, political and social sicknesses. Thereafter, God’s pardon in restoration of fellowship with Him and our fortunes serve as evidence. We should jealously guard our new estate.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
The grace of a healthy atmosphere can be seen only in a forgiven land.
