SERMON EXCERPT - 31st December 2023

SERMON EXCERPT - 31st December 2023

TEXT: GENESIS 37: 1-6, JOHN 5:12, JOB 8:22,5:9

PREACHER: Rev. Canon Future Billy Jonathan

The Bible text takes us through the history of Joseph and his dreams. Joseph dreamt, and his brother hated him, but God stood by him and helped him. Those who hate you will be cloth with shame – Job 5:9.

A word of caution: do not enter the new year without genuinely forgiving those who hurt you.

As you dare to dream big in the new year,

  1. Learn to smile because it will do you good - Psalm 107:21
  2. Please be kind because you have the power to make people feel good or bad - Mattew 5
  3. Don’t give up - Isaiah 26:4
  4. Don’t compare yourself with others because everyone is on a different journey with different dimensions of grace.
  5. Avoid iniquity and negativity - negative thoughts, people, and actions. Negative thoughts are wounds that pierce your heart when entertained – 2 Timothy 2:19
  6. Learn from the past and focus on the future.
  7. Take care of your body and mind.
